Actually,<br>60 mph = 96.54 km/h, thereof<br>100 mph = 160.9 km/h.<br><br>Reversed, 100 km/h is 62.15 mph...<br><br>Legal speeds in Sweden:<br><br>50km/h - 31.08 mph<br>90km/h - 55.94 mph<br>110km/h - 68.37 mph<br><br>At 140 km/h (87mph) you can kiss your drivers licence goodbye for a couple of years... plus a couple of hundred of bucks lighter.<br><br>I think we should mess it all up with<br>nautical miles, while were at it. :)<br><br>

Is a naut 1.1 miles, or 0.8 miles? I forget, I think it's the former.

A nautical mile is 1875 metres..<br>that makes it 1.165 miles.<br><br>Close enough :P

on the simpsons, they sometimes make comments that the 'crazy europeans' use kph. i have no idea where they go that from. <br><br>in the uk its all miles, pounds and ounces, we only use kilos at school, really. i suppose on the continent they use kilos more but i dunno...

well, all the road signs are in miles. things like that. since half of our country are old people it makes sense to keep miles i guess. hell, we didnt even change to decimal currency until the 70s...

What is the British currency system anyway? (I was there 10 years ago but I remember only pound notes and large heavy coins that I squandered in pubs as tips.)<br>Whatever happened to the shilling, the crown, and the guinea?  Sixpence, tuppence, fourpenny and hapenny?  Metrics lack the charm of those colorful old-world units.
