on the simpsons, they sometimes make comments that the 'crazy europeans' use kph. i have no idea where they go that from. <br><br>in the uk its all miles, pounds and ounces, we only use kilos at school, really. i suppose on the continent they use kilos more but i dunno...

(I was there 10 years ago but I remember only pound notes and large heavy coins that I squandered in pubs as tips.)<br>Whatever happened to the shilling, the crown, and the guinea?  Sixpence, tuppence, fourpenny and hapenny?  Metrics lack the charm of those colorful old-world units.
