Warren, I like you, and I forgive your lack of understanding due to age, but let me help you along.
Communism has never existed, what the Russian's called Communism, was Socialism, and what Marx called Communism doesn't exist, and it never has.
The first rule of Utopia is, there is no Utopia. It is an ideological dream, as is perfection.
Furthermore, the "equal" treatment/pay of people is a falacious and one sided viewpoint, shared by the lazy and inept. There is no equality in equal pay for disparate work.
Consider a small, pre-industialized clan of people. Some farm, some hunt, some tend to the children, some build. Then there are some who go fishing once a week and do little else. Under what premise is it 'fair' or 'equal' to believe that they should be allowed to dwell in the same huts or eat the same foods as the other contributory members of that society?
Meritocracy, historically, is the only form of order that offers the same OPPORTUNITY for all. Do well, be rewarded, fail and you will not. This is the unltimate in natural law. Darwinism at its greatest and purest form. If you hunt you live, if not you die. In such a system, and in ONLY such a system, is there any insentive to succeed. Pander to the weak, give to the less-than-motivated, and you encourage them to do less.
These laws are nature's. These instincts intrinsic in us all, and unstoppable.
This is not to say that you should not help out your fellow man. See an old person with too many groceries, help them along there way. See a sick person, offer your services.
To say that a society that encourages people to work for success is evil and unfair is foolishness.
We are all CREATED equal, what we do from there is our own matter, not that of the state.
