If you walk into a hospital they are required by federal law to give you ever possible means of help they can provide.

But insurance is how they cover they're own asses. Money is what runs the world, Warren. You shouldn't be made because of it, that's just the way it ALL is, EVERYWHERE, eVERYTHING, even you are run by money. Insurance companies, however, are run by jerks that don't care for their customers one iota. If ANYTHING happens they raise the rates, but what you were paying still covered the cost, and ... ugh.

Moose, duh, but I can't make fun of it? What kind of money powered world would this be if we didn't have the right to make fun of stuff. Remember the E-Trade commerical with the guy with money coming out of his wazzoo! Now that was a hilarious commercial!

Okay bitches. Let me break it down plain and simple. Open your wallets and pull out all the currency that contain the words "In God We Trust" and burn them.

From now on, refuse to use any currency that contains the word "God". When your paycheck arrives, be sure to cash it into some foreign currency that doesn't contain a religious reference. Then go to the local supermarket and try to buy something.

I gurantee, if I handed any one of those bitches that killed the "Pledge of Allegience" a crisp 100 dollar bill, they'd snatch it away damn quick.

As Moose stated, the Pledge of Allegience isn't about a pledge to God or any other hidden brainwashing. Those words were written hundreds of years ago, and contain a certain history. This country was founded by people fleeing religious persecution- mostly Christians. We can't change that.

I am not religious by any means. But this is fucking ridiculous.

Unfortunately, randall, that arguement is invalid, as the words 'under God' were added during the cold war to separate us from the "godless" communist Russia, where I believe religion was outlawed. Can't have the citizens thinking for themselves and worshiping anyone but Lenin, you know.
The fates lead him who will;
Him who won't, they drag.

Warren, I like you, and I forgive your lack of understanding due to age, but let me help you along.

Communism has never existed, what the Russian's called Communism, was Socialism, and what Marx called Communism doesn't exist, and it never has.

The first rule of Utopia is, there is no Utopia. It is an ideological dream, as is perfection.

Furthermore, the "equal" treatment/pay of people is a falacious and one sided viewpoint, shared by the lazy and inept. There is no equality in equal pay for disparate work.

Consider a small, pre-industialized clan of people. Some farm, some hunt, some tend to the children, some build. Then there are some who go fishing once a week and do little else. Under what premise is it 'fair' or 'equal' to believe that they should be allowed to dwell in the same huts or eat the same foods as the other contributory members of that society?

Meritocracy, historically, is the only form of order that offers the same OPPORTUNITY for all. Do well, be rewarded, fail and you will not. This is the unltimate in natural law. Darwinism at its greatest and purest form. If you hunt you live, if not you die. In such a system, and in ONLY such a system, is there any insentive to succeed. Pander to the weak, give to the less-than-motivated, and you encourage them to do less.

These laws are nature's. These instincts intrinsic in us all, and unstoppable.

This is not to say that you should not help out your fellow man. See an old person with too many groceries, help them along there way. See a sick person, offer your services.

To say that a society that encourages people to work for success is evil and unfair is foolishness.

We are all CREATED equal, what we do from there is our own matter, not that of the state.

*reads thread* Well, ah, ummmm, *head explodes*
I'm not a very deep thinker.... I'd rather keep God in the Pledge. Many other people do too, according to CNN and Reuters.... Isn't Avantgo a wonderfull thing?
