monocycline, ya. I took that before. It helped the first month and then did nothing from then on.
But damn! College is getting hard! I had 3 tests just today, two things of homework were due today, too. I've got to prepare a 10 minutes presentation for tomorrow, I have this incredibly hard bio homework, and 3 more tests next week. I LOVE IT! And the stuff, it's so DIFFICULT! This is the first time I've ever had trouble with homework! I've been sitting here staring at my biology homework with absolutely NO CLUE for the last hour and a half! I just CAN'T figure it out! ISN'T THAT GREAT?!?
So, uhm... anyone want to help me on it. I hate this biochemistry stuff. I can't wait until we get into actual BIOLOGY, argh!
Okay, here's one question.
1) Cells will often modify proteins with carbohydrates and lipids. What will each of these respective modifications do to the protein.
I found some stuff on that one, something about glycoproteins and lipoproteins, so I wrote that down. Bonding and receptors and stuff like that.
2)Consider the following list of short polypeptides.
a. ala-cys-thr-met-cys-asp-gln-met-ser
b. ser-asp-his-trp-ile-val-phe-val-leu-asp-lys-his-arg
c. lys-his-ser-glu-asp-arg-ala-gln-tyr-lys-arg
d. ile-trp-met-pro-phe-gly-val-val-ala
Which peptide would most likely form a bent shape?
Which peptide could interact with DNA?
Which peptide would retain at least part of its secondary or tertiary structure even after denaturation?
and 3) Rabbits that eat green, leafy vegetables containing xanthophyll accumulate this yellow pigment molecule in body fat but not in muscles. What chemical properties of the molecule might cause this selective accumulation?
Anyone have ANY ideas?
