Filesize really isn't an issue - having an "MMX" function and a non-MMX function isn't going to bloat anything much because you'll only need to do it in very few places (and if your functions are "big" you're getting something wrong).
Not MMX again... I remember a few years back. They said MMX would speed up 3D accelerated games. Turned out it didn't do much of anything. Guess it wouldn't hurt on a PPC. Unreal is optimized for MMX processors, score!
