AMD XP + Windows XP

Anyone have an AMD XP Processor and Windows XP?  The processor is supposed to be made FOR Windows XP, but in reality, its probably the worst combination ever.  I just upgraded to it and so did a few friends of mine and we've been getting nothing but crashes (even with all the updates) Anyone else have this problem?

Ok... the Athlon XP was not developed exclusivly for Windows XP... The athlon XP is based on the palimino core, which began development way before AMD had a copy of the Windows XP (beta) product. The Athlon XP is exactly the same as the Athlon MP, except for a few minor changes.<br><br>The athlon XP rocks... It's pretty much an old athlon that doesn't overheat, and is faster .. If you are experiencing any problems, it'd probably windows xp, or some software you've installed on it; it wouldn't be the processor... AFAIK.<br><br>although, I could be wrong.

And make sure your BIOS is setup properly - check your mobo's manufacturer's website for forums and post your question with specific information about your issue - MSI forums are awesome!

Give me your system info and I'll tell you what's wrong. Either you don't have enough cooling or you don't have enough cooling and your cpu core voltage is too low. I'd suggest 1.8 volts as a minimum for your Athlon XP processor. Maybe you've got a cheap hard drive, not enough cooling on your video card, ram, or chipset. Well, suffice it to say there are quite a few things that could be wrong.
