I own both the 5455 and E740. Speed wise they are the same. The range on the 5455 is slightly better than the E740 and I seem to get better signal strength throughout my house when compared to the E740. The power savings option on the 5455 is better than the E740. But like Moose said, if money is no object go with the iPAQ, otherwise you can't go wrong with the E740. The differences aren't that great.

Ya, the 5400 is slow for games, but the e740 is slower. The MediaQ doesn't have as large a negative impact.

Yes, it's more like a "which one is less crap" issue. In which the 5450 wins in speed.

Or you could wait until March I believe and buy Asus' MyPal A710, which comes with built in WiFi and GPRS. I'm really interested in that. I might save up to get it... or a TabletPC ... or a new desktop ... or a new laptop ... or a lot of things :/

OH! And I completely forgot about the Acer n20w It's a pretty decent device and has built in WiFi. It's pretty much identical to the Asus MyPal A600 that's available now, except the Acer has built in WiFi. Might want to take a look at that.
