I tried "beaming" a word document to my school printer through ppc ir (which I never expected to work) and my ppc recognized the printer as "HPlaserJet5p" which it was. Unfortunatly it didn't print and failed to receive the file more than once (not an ir problem). Is there anyway to get printer drivers for my ppc or something like that?

That was simply the internal identificatin of the printer. It didn't exactly "recognize" the device, only it's name.

Try a program by the name of PrintCE or PocketPrintCE. I'm not exactly sure of it's name. It allows you to print to printers over bluetooth, infrared, and serial connections. That should be of great help to you.
