Forum Downtime

Postby Chris Edwards » Jan 8, 2002 @ 3:48pm

Forums will be down on Thursday night for as long as it takes to transfer them to phpBB2.0.

The forums will look relatively the same, but I'll have some new stuff such as avatars...

I'm gonna be merging the Pocket PC Hardware and Pocket PC Accessories discussions into the general Pocket PC Discussion forums... any problems with that?

Not at all. Cleans up the forum front page. Is this PM2?

not PM2, but an upgrade none-the-less. I think we might have to let the Job forums die, it was a good idea, they just never got the attention they needed.

Maybe we'll integrate some job-type thing into the new developers section when we get that going...

I'm thinking of adding two more categories:

Released Software
Unreleased Software

What do you think of that idea? Argentum would go in Unreleased... Stuff that has been released will go in Released..... just an easier way to do things.

I know dan wanted a development forum for quake.. but when we get a faq up, the newbie questions will start to disappear.

There's no harm in letting the job forums stay there, but the only people that ACTUALLY, REALLY work around here are randall, dan, jaybot, john lomax, carpe noctem, and phantom. Well, there are probably more, but I've forgotten. And they all HAVE jobs.

I don't mean work work. I mean like a realy online or otherwise job. Like how randall does art for video games, or CARPENOCTEM actually programs video games, etc. Hell, everyone 'works'. I design and print candy wrappers (pretty good money, actually)! But I'm talking about a real job, one not held by an 18 or under year old.
