Async and lan

Hi Daniel

On your PC go into activesync and in help you will find the topic "Connect to ActiveSync using a network (Ethernet) card".
the help file includes:-
1 On the File menu, click Connection Settings.
2 Select Allow network (Ethernet) and Remote Access Service (RAS) server connection with this desktop computer. etc etc

If you search for posts about this you should find a few discussing making net connections.

ps: I've just given up doing my main developing with eVC and the emulator / real device as it's too slow and there are too many problems. I'm now using a VC6 project with code which works on both PC & PPC.

well as usual the microsoft "help" doesn't help when things get more interesting (complicated).
the topic "Connect using a network (Ethernet) connection" tells more or less nothing about how do go on...

nevertheless although activesync won't let connect me without the usb connection it seams that i did manage to get some WLAN connection because debugging is now A LOT faster than before (i'd say about 5x faster than before)

Daniel,

Yeah it took me a while to get ActiveSync working with WLAN. I was really frustrated for a while when it didn't want to Sync, but in the end I had to set up a partnership with USB first, then after that I could use the WLAN exclusively.

It is way faster, and it's the only reason I continue to do all my testing on the actual device. I've never used the "emulator".

Cheers,

Nathan
