Someone else may be able to come up with a low level driver update. But then again, HP could have purposefully disabled or removed hardware aspects that mean it will never be SDIO. Either is possible.

this wouldnt be the first time, handspring did the same with the treo 300, at the beggining it was launched at SD, and just SD. months later a patch upgrade was released making available SDIO :)

why?
a. they were so stupid, so not even developers knew the device was SDIO capable at the beggining
b. they knew it, but they were too lazy to make the drivers for SDIO at launch
c. some marketing misteries
