ActiveSync LAN Issues

ActiveSync LAN Issues

Postby sponge » Feb 25, 2003 @ 10:27pm

I can't seem to fully sync my iPaq 3900 over WiFi. I can connect, but if I have any conduits turned on, it stalls for about 3-4 minutes, and times out while waiting for a response from the device. I can then browse the device normally, but I can't backup, or sync my stuff without connecting over USB.

Using a NetGear MA701 CF card.

In 2002 under options for active sync it lets you set which host to sync to. I have two machines I sync to over 802.11b with no problems. CF - Symbol/Dlink router.

I have had a similar problem before. I have solved it by explicitly creating a hosts entry for the machine I am trying to activesync to. The easiest way to do this is to use "pocket hosts" which can be found here http://www.zimac.de/cestuff.htm

Hope this Helps

I understand the concept of the hosts file, but I don't see how this would help? I added an entry to my PC's NetBIOS name, with my PC's LAN IP, and it didn't work. (Connects, same error)
