that's not bill on the weekest link, silly boy.<br><br>Oh, and moose. download/buy linux mandrake 8.0... and you NEED to use partitions... if your cdrom is bootable just stick in mandrake 8 install cd and restart.. it will start the install.. mandrake 8 kicks.. i was using it for a while, but it's definately not a productivity OS (it takes a long time to get it tweeked to how you want it, and you'll end up reinstalling a lot if you try to tweek it to what you want), but it's still better than winblows.<br><br>win2k is best winblows.

So, WHAT THE FECK SHOULD I DO TO UNINSTALL?<br>Just click on C:\WINNT and press DEL? Because that's about what it's coming to if you don't help me.<br>And I'm about to buy Linux Mandrake 8.0, the one with the 7 CDs that come with lots of free software, except it's $70 and that's a lot for something that would only take me about 62 hours to download!

Moose, Don't do that.  That will give you more grief and hell then you know it.  Check on Micro$oft support page for the proper uninstall.  I remember looking in there for something and stumble upon it.  support.microsoft.com....And I'm still fiddling around with Linux.  I still don't understand what's the between all these different companys producing this?  Some people say Red Hat is good and some people say Mandrake is good.  What the heck is the difference?

The different distros just come with differen't programs, etc. But you can go in and recode the entire OS if you want, it is open source. But Red Hat is the worst of all of them. It's just like Windows but without the software compatability. Red Hat is the newbie linux. Go for something like Mandrake, Debian, or Slackware.

Thanks Moose for breaking it down to me.  Well, I guess I'll give Mandrake a try.  I have the older distro. of it, but I just wanna know what was the difference.  I could just fiddle around with Red Hat till I feel comfortable with it.  It's kind of hard to understand when so use to Winblows.  But hey, I'm just trying to take my learning skills a notch up.
