Yeah, Carpe, I kinda agree, I think that they should be able to play it to make a good map.

I guess there should be a compromise, if someone submits a good map, which you like, then you can send them a copy of it running so they can then tweak the map to their liking.

What about this, send them a way so they can have a fly by of the map. You know, like you were playing the game, but all you can do is navigate throughout the map. No interface really, just a flyby mode. I wish I could make cool maps, but I can't.

like I said, there are tons of other people that are willing.

Maybe I am just a conceited ass. But if my ability to create a bitmap with an airbrush tool isn't apparent, then maybe I should find something else to do.

Lomax already said he'd do. Hit him up to be the exclusive map designer.

I just don't feel comfortable submitting something blindly like that.

at the very least you could make a prog that would take the terrain and the heightmap and do the maths to render it in a voxel style so you can see the shadows etc...

Yep, I need to agree with Randall. It´s hard to make a map without being able to test it.

Its ok I will fire him over some maps tommorrow.

Creating, bitmaps like that is easy. Its purely a gameplay issue after that, which I can sort out with carpe (and if freddy shows up :). I have a rough idea of what carpe and freddy want so its not a problem.

Besides. I would prefer all the art to remain within one style anyway.

Heres hoping freddy's ok anyway.

J.

I'm way out of my league here, but I can't possibly imagine somebody making a map (a good one, of course) without playing the game with another map and then testing (in the game) the map he/she made.

Freddy is ok, he wrote last week saying he had moved and he was having trouble to connect and that he would come online like the day after, that didn't happen so i guess he is still having trouble.
