Library Girl Thread

you know this thread is over 3k in replies, that's obscene. This could possibly be the longest thread ever, anywhere.

Nah, this other forum I'm registered at has two or three threads with 2500 replies in all of em.
Word count this one would be longer, but relavent word count and, well, the number would be double-digit.

Sorry that I haven't posted at PM in a long time, I've been tired and busy. I just got back from a week long program at Stonehill College called Boys' State. Anyway, I'm not going to say much about it (it was awesome though), but for LG thread's sake, I have one tiny thing to say (remember, I'm like half-comatose right now), whenever I said that I go to Nipmuc High School, people would say that my school is known around the state for having the worst girls. So there you have it, I'm taking a nap.

Do you guys have RDS on your radios in the US? Most FM radios in the UK transmit the station name and programme playing. Some even send songs and so on. It keeps the radio perfectly tuned in when moving between transmitters.

The radio will automatically switch to traffic news/emergency broadcasts and so on.
Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

In indy, I'd say about half our stations broadcast song and station name, but I don't think most people know about it because most radios here can't display the information.

The only thing about XM though, sponge, is that it's 10 bucks per receiver. I'd much rather have an account that could hold x number of receivers, than have to pay 10 bucks to have on in my car, 10 bucks to have one in my entertainment system, etc. Sirius has the best idea right now IMHO, they have a receiver that uses cradles so you can at least take the radio out of your car and stick it into your home intertainment system. I'm not sure about how good their channels are though...

I prefer Sirius Satellite Radio, I think it's much better. Not only does Sirius have more satellites in the sky, which means better reception and fewer dropped signals, they've also got fewer stations that have commercials. If I recall correctly, XM has a few commercial free channels, Sirius is 100% commercial free. Sirius has more stations, as well, including your indie, underground, unsigned rock station:

Plus Sirius has better HU manufacturer support (I don't like Sony), and better marketting and you've always got to support the good marketting campaigns.

But Sirius is losing badly the satellite radio war, and some aren't sure how long it'll be around.
