Go read the DMCA. You're allowed to make backup copies only in the same format that they were originally in. If you want to copy a CD, it has to be copied to a CD. If you want to copy a SNES game, it has to be copied to a SNES cartridge.

I read most of the DMCA and didn't see much mention about backing up to the same media. If you had to bypass copyright protection in order to MAKE that backup, you may be under it's ridiculously strong arm.

Bla, In Illinois they passed one of those super DMCA kinda things that basically makes any firewall you have illegal. I don't know anyone who is going to follow that.

Personally I believe most politicians know nothing about how computers work/what should be fair. This may sound a little high and mighty, but I'm going to follow what I think is fair.

Basically, If I allready own/paid for a game, I should be allowed to use any means I wish to play it.

Agreed. The FBI is mostly concerned about large distributors.

Those Super DMCA laws make me want to move out of the country more.
