The MediaQ in the 2200 is the MQ 1178, which is clocked at 66 mhz. This chip is blazing fast, unlike any other MediaQ chip released before.
The MediaQ chip in the HP 5xxx automatically ensures slow performance. The MQ 1100 is a rather old and obsolete model. The e310 had a MQ 1132 chip, which is newer than the MQ 1100. You can see right there where this is going.
However, there is a solution if you have been having slow speeds. My friend is working on a MediaQ overclocking app which overclocks the MediaQ chip. He claims his 5400 is 40% faster than before. Benchmarks with blitting have gotten a huge increase. One of the main problems with the chip is that everything must go through the chip. Programs that use the Blit buffer will go slower, such as PocketNester (remember 20 fps?).
So far, the app works on the HP 5400. The program crashes on Axims, but I'm sure he will resolve that issue. e310/e335 support is also a possibility. He will be releasing it soon.
