Badly Written Review

http://pocketmatrix.com/reviews/kart/

What is with the last pocketgamers review? It's mean. It's two guys laughing at the expense of other people's work, it's a fine line betwen good humor and mean laugh, specially knowing the reviewers aren't just any guys from the street but developer themselves.

It has some good point, but the delivery is bad. It's a trashing orgy instead of good fun and friendly nudge to improve the game.

StephC,

I think that is a very negative accusation, trying to imply pdamill is behind all this. I have to agree there is a possibility of the reviewer being impartial, but it's just that... possibility.

Instigating the idea further will create bad blood in such small community, and it won't rectify your cause.

Deal with factuals, not suspicions. Suspicions brings the worst in community.

-----------
Anyway, IMHO
The best way to save everybody's face is.

release major patch, redo the review. and kiss and make up.

and everybody pleaseee....

I want more games,
quit bickering and get down to work already.

If I don't see BIG fun game by christmas,
teddy bear is going to get it.

now move! don't make me spank everybody.

:P

Get over it.

StephC you should stop acting like a fucking asshole.

We in the Linux community still remember your stupid flame fest on the Zaurus mailing list after you lost the Qtopia contest. You were posting all over the net whining and bitching about how fucking unfair the contest was simply because your application lost to some other contestant.
Now you are trying to pull the same kind of nonsense on this fine forum ...

Well, frankly, I am quite a bit involved in the industry as well. I do graphic and interface design. It does affect how I see other games, but I do not tear them into bits. AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED, JAY'S COMMENT ABOUT THE MUSIC, HIS AREA OF EXPERTISE, WAS - whoops!!! - NO COMMENT ON THAT!
I do think many PocketPC games could use better looking (and working!) interfaces, but I still love the skin Ryan Anspach did for Snails! And I can still fall in love with some other games' user interaction, like that remote control. The UI is just ingenious!!!

I didn't want to get involved in this (I didn't even know about the review until today), but I think that as a developer-centric website this review got a little out of hand.

I'm going to work with Jaybot and Matt to remove the pointless negative comments that are in the review. The review will retain its current score, and the con's of the game will not be removed.

As David has mentioned before, once your game has been updated we'd be more than happy to update the review with mention that those problems have been fixed.
