James Sonne what do you mean dont expect to run quake I? quake I runs perfectly on my iPaq 3630 with Pocket PC 2002! and quake II runs as well though way slower. but playable sometimes (very few times)
what if some1 was to replace all the textures (or almost all) in quake II to a lower quality, would it make any difference? :?:

How come the FPS sux so much on the Arm. I am familiar with the Arm from it's Acorn computers day, and it was a very well performing formidable processor. I've done the calculations based on what sort of FPS shooters I heard about on the Acorn machines (at 17Mhz), and Quake should be doing way way way more FPS at 400Mhz.

I've heard about slow bus, screen writes, and the like but this is incredible. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that xscale performance per Mhz is worse than Strong Arm, which appears worse than Arm based SAamsung design. Is this all that there is that keeps it back?

Wayne.

The more apt question would be "What isn't speeding it up?"
