Developing for the P800

Developing for the P800

Postby egarayblas » Nov 4, 2003 @ 2:16am

I'm just getting started on porting my game to the P800 but I just read from the sony-ericsson website that I should only use either Codewarrior or Borland BuilderX. Will I be able to port my gapidraw games by using VC 6.0? Can anyone give simple instructions on how to get started w/ porting a gapidraw game to p800/symbian?

Thanks in advance!

You don't really need them. You can use VC 6.0 as your development environment and compile from the command line using the abld script, as briefly described in the readme.txt in GapiDraw for Symbian. CodeWarrior is only required for emulator builds, which is not supported by GapiDraw at this stage.

Install the UIQ SDK for CodeWarrior from and you should be able to compile for the device even though you don't have CodeWarrior installed.

If you have any problems or any success, please let us know!
