Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

The catholic church also blessed the officers of the Croatian death camps. And them darn Croatians have the high score for killing (by % of their population).

[edit: mispelled 'Croatian']

What? Catholics split off of the Eastern church (Eastern Orthodox Church) because they wanted to change their beliefs and customs.
This is the real Alex.

Either through direct disrespect, or through disrespect for my beliefs, most of you deserve the coming reciprocation. For those who haven't wronged me, I apologize in advance.

Sandmann, I asked you to stay out of it because I was going to show how foolish James is, and I didn't want to offend you since I saw that the civility in this thread was about to die. Now that I've read the thread Trae linked to along with Dr. Dino thread, I see that I don't really have to prove anything. Some of my favorite James moments include "you can divide by 0", "I don't get porn, it's just pictures and they're gross. ", and him arguing with a physics students based on an article in Newsweek. Well, jeez James, I didn't realize Newsweek offered a PhD in physics. Finally, something to beat a Schaum's Outline.

Now, for the part that will piss off most of you. I apologize, but feel that I have the right to be as honest as everyone else has been.

Everyone, go back and read your own damned posts. When you've done that and find that you're far less literate than the people you're busting on for bad spelling or grammar, then you can start nit-picking again. Bjorne's English is better than most of the people's in this thread, and he's from the Netherlands.

Weak of mind. Bjorne is right. Weak in that you lack the courage to question what society tells you before you believe it right. You are the type of people that have allowed the wicked to prosper, because you only question as far as society will let you. People with your nature have allowed slavery, and the killing of millions--just because you do not question. Read your Bible, and tell me if you condone all of what God condones.

Oh, but you don't believe in the Bible? Those who think they're questioning, just because they believe in God, but not the stories in the bible are also fools. The Bible is God's book--HIS BOOK. It's where he comes from. The stories of the old testament could have been revised when his son was out walking around the Earth, but they weren't. There could be qualifiers in the text to say "this is a story to teach and not a record of actual history." There are not!

We can take the account (which Jesus DID NOT discredit) of creation and rightly state that God was the only being that could have experienced it in its entirety. Seven days. Days being the rising and falling of our Sun. God names night and day in Genesis as the domains over which the Sun and Moon rule (I should also point out he calls the moon a light, when we in fact know that it reflects the light of the Sun). He states seven days as we know them to be. Then some might argue that God's explanation was simplified so that people could understand. What? He would leave us with abstract stories with multiple interpretations, yet "alleviate" us of the few things he would perceive us to someday be able to prove with little doubt.

"Leap of faith." Pfft. It takes a hell of a lot more courage to question. There is no leap involved with faith. Faith is curling into a little ball, until you're alleviated of your guilt and your responsibility to those around you and can step out into the world a wide-eyed child. You disregard the contradictions of the Bible. I call that lying. Lying to oneself, and to others.

You can not make your own imaginary version of God and Jesus. The ones you conjure up are false Gods in the eyes of the God in the Bible--look at the Ten Commandments. Just because you call what you believe in God, doesn't make it so. Don't believe in the seven days? Don't believe in the Arc? Well, if you don't believe in those stories, you don't believe in the Christian god. In fact, you are going as far as calling His Book one of lies. Think you can interpret the Bible? You think an omniscient God gives a damn about your interpretations. He meant it one way--only one way.

James claims that I think I'm wiser than God? Look at yourselves, and realize that you do too. You've taken a cultural myth and shaped it until it's become palatable enough for you to swallow. None of you would condone all of the things God condones in the Bible. Would you keep or be a willing slave? Would you stone heretics, like Bjorne, Andy and I? I hope not.

Sandmann: "About the Bible argument: the Bible is the word of God as written by HUMANS. It's a political book, and while it contains many truths about the way God works, it is shone through human lenses and is therefore distorted. I still stand by much of it, but you can pretty clearly see that human distortion affects its accuracy."

Jesus had the chance to make changes when he walked the Earth and changed the personality of God.

This really is done. You guys can run around like the Iraqi official saying that you've won the war; but any reasonable person is going to laugh at you.
