Difference between SD and CF.

Difference between SD and CF.

Postby T-nm » Nov 30, 2003 @ 4:20pm

I'm going to buy a Mypal A620, but the problem is, no SD slot.
Is it really bad or just :? ..
Anyway, what's the difference?
Thx.

If you really want SD, there are SD to CF converters available that aren't too expensive.

I don't really want SD, I just want to know the difference between the two ones.
Can we load ROMs from CF cards?

And is compatible with A620?

Compact Flash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) are merely form factor standards. This is all you have to know.

Compact Flash = big (compared to SD, anyway) roughly smaller than a GBA cartridge.

Secure Digital = pretty small (too small if you ask me), about the size of a postage stamp.

They both come in diferent sizes like:
32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB

I don't know if SD goes beyond that, but CF goes a loong way up to 4.0GB, (anyone feel free to correct me).

Hope this helped. 8)

its better to just have cf instead of just a sd slot. There are tons of things that can go in compact flash slots, like cameras and wifi cards, bluetooth cards etc.

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.
