N64 Emulation

N64 Emulation

Postby Miracle » Dec 21, 2003 @ 1:13am

Hi guys!

As seen right , I am talking about N64 Emulation on the Pocket PC.
Now I know that I am not the first one, but I really believe that it is possible.
Maybe not at a playable/good speed, but if we start now, including all the optimizations we can do, the emulator will be armed and ready for the 2004 devices.

Now, on to my question.
The source code of Project 64 v.1.4 (Project 64 is, to my opinion the best N64 emulator available) is free, and written in C++.
I am looking for somebody who is willing to port Project 64 (or any other one if you don't like P64) to the PPC.
I just want a 'raw' version, meaning that I do not mean all the optimizations and stuff.
I just want to see, and let everybody else see that it is possible.
After this, more people/programmers will follow and the optimizations will (hopefully) start by itself :).

If you find this interesting, please IM/PM/Email me to discuss this some more.

Thanks for listening,

Miracle [willing to kill for OoT on-the-go ]

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.

DUDE, the N64 has a crazy ass video card that runs at 100mhz.

Case in point, when using Project64 with Jabos Direct3D6 plugin and setting it into RGB Emulation mode(PURE CPU for rendering, no video card, like a pocketpc would have to do), I get 8fps on Mario on my PIV2.53GHZ.

Now you think a 400mhz Asus is faster then that? no im sorry its not.

And honestly, I dont think anyone CARES if you want a port, If you want a port of Project64 so badly, go do it yourself. Im doing that right now for the zodiac trying to get SNES9x running, and R0B and me did that a while ago for PCSX(the version avialable online sucked compared to a special little version just me and r0b had)

Scroll down to RCP's post.
And did you miss the part where I say 'Maybe not at a playable/good speed'?

You should understand that 4fps out of 60 isnt a whole lot... and for some reason... I dont believe him. I DO NOT believe that he wrote a software renderer, especially since none exist on the PC. Though checking at the TRWin website, rcp was the porter of it...
