I have been in the pocket pc comunity since before 2000. for the past 4 years I have started and developed a User Group (now called Club) that has grown from the original 7 founding members to over 75 members of which about 30 who attend regular monthly meetings.
My participation in and support of the Pocket PC community has been unending spending many of my personal hours supporting the community. Check out our site at
www.PittsburghMobileTech.com and the news link where you will see the years of meetings on Pocket PCs and now any Mobile Technology that I have supported. We were one of the first Pocket PC Clubs ever with Boston and Germany and a few others that formed back in 2000.
I have participated and tried to forward the support and development of Pocket PCs from a grassroot level, working with Beth Goza (Terone) at Microsoft back in late 2000 !!! To Focus Groups at the Philladelphia Mobile Show in 2002 with Microsoft. I have always tried to make sure that the voice of the average user gets to Microsoft and that the average user's issues are heard. I have hosted 3 Large MS events in 2001, 2002 and 2003 to spread the word in the Pittsburgh Area. drawing as much as 150 attendees!!! and many totally NEW to the PocketPC community.
(thats me back row second from the right)
2000
(thats me presenting the intro for our first microsoft major show... Using 802.11B wireless to the laptop and controlling and able to draw on the powerpoint slides being shown on the projector using my IPAQ

.. so I was using 802.11B when it was just a novelty..)
2001
My first Unit was an Ipaq when no one know what IPAQ was (the time when you would upgrade your ROM and it would give you the Parrot of Death picture

) When Active Sync was in version 1.XXX
I later upgraded in 2002 to a Casio E200 and which has served me well after ROM upgrades and Bluetooth/802.11b CF cards ...
but its time for me to upgrade to 2003 to be able to further support the new members with the latest Pocket PC 2003 questions. I recently did a Bluetooth presentation and it would be nice to have a BT embeded device. In May I will be helping put on a connectivity seminar to talk about connectivity and would love to be able to demo this unit connecting up 802.11B, BT to wireless GPRS phone and BT to BT laptop to hardwired Lan Connection ect. so rest assured this unit will get more demo use for years to come.
I also being a Pocket PC Club leader beta test software from Ilum and other great game and utility mfgs. So this will definitely help in that matter going from the slower processor to the Asus 400 Mhz along with the bigger screen from my E200...
So long story short, by awarding me this PocketPC you will not only be helping me but actually helping me help other users in this region with ability to support other users and grow the club. It will also expose others to ASUS which I dont think anyone in our core group has ever owned. So from a marketing standpoint it will be good to Asus as well. thanks for reading thru this and hope to hear good news
PS. If you give this unit to me I will be sure to give my E200 to someone in my club who needs a pocket PC but doesnt have one currently... so the trickle down effect of good will shall continue
