Please stop suggesting things I wouldn't buy. Limit your suggestions to actual laptops -- I've made it fairly clear that that's all I'm interested in. To clarify: I want a PC laptop, preferably a Dell. Mobility and battery life are my top priorities, NOT gaming (though I will probably play a game or two at some point, so I want it to be relatively capable).
I like the IBM T41, but it might be a hard sell on my parents because of the price. We'll see though -- maybe they'll want to dish out a few more bucks for something that lasts rather than buying me something new later. Also, there's no discount with IBM.
Just how unreliable are Dells?
[edit] Damn -- I just configured a comprable (but slightly superior, ie 768mb RAM) IBM T41, and it's $3,000!! Is it really worth $600 (for me more like $900) extra bucks?! It even has an inferior display (XGA instead of SXGA+)
