The Pentium M is one hell of a chip. It's based on the P3 Core, which, clock for clock, blows the P4 out of the water.
I read an article a while ago in a magazine (CustomPC) which pitted a 1.26 'Tualatin' Overclocked to 1.8Ghz, (The fastest they could go without more core voltage and PCI/AGP Lock) against a P4 Celeron overclocked to 3.22Ghz. In most benchmarks (both synthetic and application based), the P3 won (By around 5-15%).
The Pentium M also has a 1M L2 Cache.
But having said that, the A64M looks pretty good too.
