I live about 20 minutes from the nearest coast and live in a valley, so flooding is somewhat common. We've had our finished basement flooded 3 times in the past couple years.
The worst hurricane I can recall was Bob back in the early 90s. We were camping with a club in a popup trailer. Many campers flipped over, but ours didn't. I actually spent most of the time in a friend's hardside trailer playing Clue. On the way home, there was a tornado ON the highway behind us, my dad freaked and we were flying down the highway trying to out run it.
I also recall a blizzard where we had to sit in the basement and a ton of windows were smashed. That was a long time ago though.
