Yeah, this is something that everyone seems to want, but I am as yet to see anything useful for the newer models.

I would suggest that you go buy a ...they frickin' rock.

I was thinking about getting a Phillips Pronto, but since I saw the color model, I just don't think the B&W model could do me justice. Have you used the B&W or Color. Is the B&W really worth the money?

If you dig around PM, there was a thread about this a while back.

I have a B&W version...had it for almost 2 years...

It's pretty great, and there are lots of sites on the net about how to program for it. There are a bazillion sites with downloadable graphics and macros too. Pretty cool stuff.

Yeah I've seen it but it just doesn't quite do it for me on my Casio. Thanks though

That's because Casio mounted the IR port on the SIDE! WTF?

Hmmm, must head to Casio's site and see if it is on the new one like that too...

its not worth using your casio as a remote anyway. the IR port range on those things and other PDAs is arund 3cm MAX. All4one does a complety programmable OmniRemote for under £60 here in the UK. But I suppose it would be technically possible to interface a remote to your PDA's RS-232 port. Doesn't Casio also do remotes? if they do give them a ring, they may make a remote control thing for thier PDAs

Yeah, but if you look back in this and other discussions, you'll see talk about making an IR booster.

See I need a fully programable remote that can learn and send IR signal. It would be nice if someone were able to create a compact flash type IRDA port with the remote software stored on the card (Omniremote for HS Visor). Phillips Pronto is very nice but expensive when I already have the hardware that should be able to do the same things.
