MPEG is way too big, go for DivX or Xvid :).

For example, a HDTV episode of [insert TV show here] is about 350mb, while a 'normal' TV-rip is over 400mb when in MPEG format (quality worse, bigger filesize, in short: crap).

Sure, if size is not important (DVD), use MPEG. I will stick to my PPC + DivX/Xvid :P.

Because MPEG1, MPEG2 and MPEG4 are all the same? Also nice job suggesting something that's impossible. Perhaps you missed the "must be MPEG4 with MP3 audio" part?

Maybe I wasn't talking about the device damian? Maybe you should read my posts?

I was just saying that I think DivX/Xvid is better then MPEG, and that he shouldn't have bought that device in the first place. But to each his own right?

Lot of people don't know that DivX is MPEG4. When they say DivX is better then MPEG, they really mean "DivX (MPEG4) is better then MPEG2".

OK, what he said /\ :D.

I have no idea about the technical side, I just see the results (See size-comparison above :)).
