hx4700 roughly same speed as X30

Wow, the hx4700 is the roughly the same speed as the Dell Axim X30, and it has a VGA screen. The review is located

I don't know why Asus went with the slower PXA270 processor. According to Spb, which I know sometimes isn't the most reliable benchmark, VGA really might not be that bad of a slowdown for PPC's after all.

Asus's 730 is around the same price as HP's, with about the same specs. Too bad it doesen't have a D-Pad.

I have to make a few comments. The battery tests are inconclusive as a comparison since the other devices listed do not mention the mAh battery used. On it's own fine, but you can't try to make a comparison without providing the proper info.

Second comment, where's a Pocketquake benchmark. Spb benchmarks are fine and all but how does it actually perform in an application that does more than test the limits of just one finite factor. That is why you are looking at VGA speed after all. Matt Keys did a PQ test with the A730. Spb alone isn't enough to tell how it performs in the real world.

On the Brighthand small first thoughts before the actual review:

It says Ed got 534 from SPB Benchmark Graphics index and got some test failures. The tactile controller looks a bit iffy imo, but maybe it'll work for some.

If you're going to get one, you might try to catch the Best Buy deal, only 475 with rebate, and no mistake in listing. Currently out of stock, but 475 is an awesome price.

Are you refering to the CPU index? Guess what, they both have the same CPU...
Overall performance however is dependent on the graphics subsystem. I do not see any hx4700 gfx scores though.
