Well, I guess highschool kids might not have anything to loose, but many advanced users have more sensitive data to protect. And in some cases this data is not their own, but belongs to the corporation they are employed by. But regardless of who you are and what info. you carry on your PDA:
If you loose your PDA and it is locked, then you will probably have a better chance of getting it back from the individual who finds it(since it will be a glorified papaer weight). On the other hand, most people who find a useable PDA will probably just format the thing and use it themselves, or sell it.
