question, on the dell axim x30 the ir is on the top i was thinking that would be a problem but how you just explained would this ir led be on a lenght of wire or embeded in the machine

I think that there already was a 16 (or so) page thread about putting a PPC in a GBA(-like) case. In the end we just sticked with the PPC's case since there is no way you can put everything inside the GBA's case (for example). On the other hand, if you could use the GBA's buttons and dpad, it might be something to make some sort of controller with in the middle (where the screen was) space for the actual PPC (kinda like those huge things you could buy for the old Gameboy

).
