No, I've never seen that, I've never seen anyone drive their garbage out to the curb and bang the hell out of it with a stick. No, I've never seen that.

Guys, I'll do you one better.

Way back when (1998) I was doing some serious piracy. I was a regular at a special site that ... well, they didn't directly distribute warez, but it was a sort of nexus between end users, distributers, crackers... and one other group:

The software developers themselves. Without a word of a lie.

A certain software developer - well known and respected today, as they were back then - had a sort of gentleman's agreement between them and the crackers.

The rule was this: if X releases a new title, there will be an embargo on it for 7 days. During this time, no group or distro may distribute said title. After that, we had their blessing. See, the thing was: they actually sold *much more copys* when they did that because of the free advertising and hype it created!! **They made money because of the pirates**

You can't say they made more money because of pirates. Unless they have a time machine. Then you could ascertain that information.

How about giving that damn grace period to every developer automatically, without having them contact you in order to bargain about when you can start ripping off their hard work.
And 7 days?, how about 5 years, then it may become a bit more acceptable.

These distribution groups/crackers need less spare time, and more FBI knocking down the door.
