Graphics card memory

Tell me, where do you benefit from having 256Mb of video memory over 128Mb?

Is it just for higher resolutions?

higher resolutions and better textures. You can also run Anti-Aliasing better.

how much extra will you pay for it? because if its a lot more......dont bother. It will probably just be overkill.

What monitor do you have? What graphics card is it for? What games do you play?

ahh ok. didn't think of anti aliasing. I was just curious. I gave my wife my old graphics card which is a 256Mb FX5700 and I have my 6600GT 128Mb. was curious how the extra memory would help the older card.
As far as games she will play, probably a little nfsu2 linked up. also some roller coaster tycoon 3 and zoo tycoon 2. she loves The Sims too.

No, I've never seen that, I've never seen anyone drive their garbage out to the curb and bang the hell out of it with a stick. No, I've never seen that.
