Help please.

Postby thrashmetal15 » Nov 9, 2005 @ 9:26pm

I can't compile any PPL code on my computer. It gives me an error about the stack being to small, or something like that, I also can't even open PPL, that also gives me an error. I also recieve errors on my ppc about it not being able to find a certain .ppl file. If you want I can write out all these errors exactly as they appear. Any help you can give would be great.

Hi, you should tell us more about your computer and the operating system, and if the PPL installation was done without any errors.

Here's what it says when I try to open PPL from my desktop:

PPL Runtime Error

App: MAIN.PPL
File: main.ppc
Proc: (null)
Opcode: Pushvarint
Char/Line/Offset: 0,0,237

(CREATEUI(0,0))
Access violation at 0x462ad6

I then press ok and get:

PPL Runtime Error

App: MAIN.PPL
File: main.ppc
Proc: (null)
Opcode: PUSHINT
Char/Line/Offset: 0,0,349

(WINMAIN)
Access violation at 0x4626cf

I press OK and then get:

PPL has caused an illegal operation...blah blah blah.

I get an almost identical error when I try to run a program.

I also get almost identical errors inside of PPL on my PPC sometimes.

I also get:

(Editor.ppl) [File "OptionsProcs.ppl" not found at character position 643]

I hope this more detailed info helps out.

Can you tell me what files you have in your PPL directories? Go to Start then hit run, type cmd then press enter.

In DOS, type:

cd\program files\PPL

dir /s > c:\dir.txt

Attach the file dir.txt from your C: drive to a reply here, we will take a look to see if you are missing anything.

For some reason that doesn't wanna work, I can't get it to write anything to dir.txt...says bad command or filename or it doesn't do anything at all.

Does PPL have to be installed in a specific directory to work right?

I have it installed at C:\Program Files\Pocket Programming Language\Ppl

The PIDE is installed at C:\Program Files\Pocket Programming Language

Ok, I managed to fix one thing.I looked through my PPL directory on my PPC and couldn't find OptionsProcs.ppl so I copied OptionsProcs.ppl over from my PC to my Pocket PC into several directories because I wasn't sure which one it's supposed to be in, and now I don't get the error concerning OptionsProcs.ppl, and can edit code on my PPC now.

One down one to go.

Try deleting all .ppc files from the PPL directory. I suspect you are using .ppc files generated with an older build of PPL.
