What happened to the cingular 2125?

What happened to the cingular 2125?

Postby DNFjoe » Dec 27, 2005 @ 2:15pm

Last Friday I went to my local cingular carrier and was waiting forever to as about the new 2125 cell phone. they had signs all over but no demo on the floor. Finnally a name gets called and no one steps up for service so I jump at the chance and ask. The rep tells me they have some in the back but I will have too wait for the manager so I can talk to him about the phone. I am thinking WTF? it either is for sale or it is not, I waited almost 1/2 hour as it is, I am not waiting to hopefully spaek to a manager.

Fastfoward to today: I check the cingular website and no 2125 is listed. This is the second time I have decided I was ready to replace my phone with a smartphone and this is the second time I have been very disapointed. (the mpx220 was pulled from their lineup due to problems for a week or soo when I was ready to buy that one).

Anyone heard anything on why the 2125 is not availible?

Thanks. I feel better now. Rant over.

Joe,
You are not alone. I spent a week on the phone with Sprint getting released from my contract. I spent the week before that trying to decide what phone that I wanted. I wanted the Audiovox. It is discontinued. And the 2125 is supposed to have better reception with "the hump". I have until Jan. 6 to make the change. I am biting my nails as well.

I guess Cingular did not have the inventory to do a full rollout, but was looking to pad cell phone sales and contracts before the year was out to get some extra earnings on their financials. I should have cheched the stock before and after to see if there was a shift in the price.

I guess I will have to believe "good things come to those that wait."
