Ok, Paul, actually, I think I will try rebuilding everything I´ve done and start from the nothing. This may increase the speed of the level. So, I will first need to test it to know if I will need to rebuild the map. It´s still in early phases and if someone could find a map of this level for me in the internet, I would appreciate becouse I´m building it only with my knowledge of the map and I can´t find it in the internet...<br><br>Thanks,<br>Diego Cueva

A map? You mean just a floorplan (unless its been converted before)<br><br>Theres n64 emus and goldeneye roms, i guess, dunno if they'll be of help (screen grabs for textures maybe?)

There tons of 007 maps that have been redone in UT, Quake (all three), and the Lithtech engines. I think there is even a webpage dedicated to it. So find out if your map has already been done for Quake first.

Not without the creators consent. I'd be pissed if someone modified my map without telling me and then posted it to the public.<br><br>If you modify it solely for your own use, there isn't much they can do about it. Especially if they (the creator) doesn't know about it.<br><br>But what fun would that be?<br><br>

I've never made a map but in halflife dont you have to decompile the .bsp to .map in order to change it. doesnt that process remove textures and lights? <br><br>i dunno... are quake1 maps even made as .map before compiling?

I searched the web for a Complex clone for Quake and din´t find anything... Maybe I should make my own "PQomplex" port (I love this name!;D ).I´m currently trying to make a level for DM with light textures (raimbow6 style) too.<br><br>Diego Cueva

Yeah, but each .MAP file has it's nuances. So a halflife .MAP can't be decompiled and immediately recompiled for Quake, unless the map editor supports that kind of function.<br><br>Quake maps store the textures in the .BSP file. This is important to note, because in Quake 2 and 3 they aren't stored in the .BSP (This is the same for UT and the Lithtech engines).<br><br>So it is possible to decompile a Quake map, and extract the textures as well.<br><br>Artistic freedom is really one huge "grey area".<br><br>It may be okay to copy a map (meaning you placed each brush and texture yourself), while using the original map as a reference.<br><br>While it is NOT okay to decompile a map, modify and submit it to the public. It's just common courtesy and consideration to the original artist.<br><br>kind of an "unwritten rule".

Oh, Quake files are normally written as a .MAP file before compiling. Although editors like Worldcraft saves them as a .RMF file, they are converted to .MAP before compiling.

Damn, I wish I could remember the site that had all those 007 maps. They were for Rainbow 6, Quake3, Quake2, Quake, Unreal Tournament...<br><br>I'll take another looksee.
