pocketquake registered?

pocketquake registered?

Postby Mr_starfire » May 1, 2001 @ 10:34pm

Ok in the interest of freeing up a little memory I tried editing the pak0.pak to get rid of the demo's also hoping this would shorten load time sense it seems like that is what’s holding up pocketquake on startup from starting faster. anyway after I make this change it says only registered version of Quake can modify pak's....

please if anyone could help me I would appreciate it.
maybe not so much for memory but for load time. anyway I can set it not to do the demo loop?

thx, -mr_starfire

Unfortunately, you have to buy the registered version of Quake 1 to get the regitered pak1.pak file which contains the proof of purchase file pop.lmp
If you can find Quake at your local software store you should be in luck and can buy it for like 5-10 bucks
if not you can be screwed into paying a ridiculous price online to id software.
Yes, this is the only way to play modified pak files, (unless you are able to download the PQ source code, find the original part of the code that checks for the ASCII picture in pop.lmp and (written in HEX) and then either change it or copy it and put the same image in ASCII fromat and name it pop.lmp), sorry.

Buy Quake at the the store. Any desktop version will work. Use the PAK1.PAK file from that registered version on your pocketPC.

If the PAK1.PAK is too large for your device, use a PAK editor and remove all the files except GFX/POP.LMP.

no, mcdonalds food is not supposed to taste good, it's supposed to look good and be well marketed, all they care about is real estate.. did you know that mcdonalds owns more (surface and price-wise) real estate than the roman catholic church?
besides, i kinda liked the mcrib....better than the cajun chicken crap theyre pawning off now

and i dont see how animal kingdom could have anything to do with eating mcribs.... well, maybe they used the animals from animal kingdom after they died to make the meat for the mcrib... that would make sense. :) sorry if i offended any animal meat lovers er whatever, get over it. mcdonalds burgers are all 100% american beef*

*when we say beef, we really mean soy, but we don't want to confuse you. :D

How could you think that limp bread-like brown stuff is meat? And still sell it for 39 cents on wednesdays? Of course it's recycled "meat" from the industrial sized dumpster out back.
