Man... we lost our seat on the U.N. drug policy board as well as the Human Rights seat. Boy it just keeps gettin' better every day.

So far Bush is just sittin' on his ass worrying about [oil] drilling the piss out of the Alaskan tundra.

I like Bush better than Clinton... Clinton doesn't sell nuclear secrets to China... CLINTON JUST GIVES THEM AWAY!!!

Enough about the political crap. We should probably have an absolute monarchy or something... Hey Britain! Why did you guys have to sign the Magna Carta!?! ;) ;) ;) Just kidding, of course!

Call me old fashioned, but I love Republicans in office. It's like the US is the Big Man on Campus again. What I mean by that is the usually quick response with Military force the Republican's are known for.

That's the sort of firm stance I've missed. For instance, I believe Bush would have handled Kosovo with an iron fist, compared to Clinton's coward's tactics of pulling out and or not even recognizing the problem. Personally, I think it was Clinton's lack of UN support in that instance which put us in the UN hotseat to begin with. Bush was simply the icing on the cake so to speak.
Bush has been dragging his feet with foreign policy- that is well cited in everything you read. He is more concerned about oil drilling and big business- domestic issues that will screw up more than it can ever hope to fix.

Bush's foreign policy constists of "what should we do with Puerto Rico?".

I'm not Democrat or Republican. I just want someone in office that is competent.

Last modification: randall - 05/07/01 at 14:23:43

I think Bush just got all the shit that Clinton left to clean up after, that's a bit unfair. It could be worse, we could have Gore as president. :) And stop worrying about Alaskan Tundras, it's really no different than it was 5 years ago, we're just not in the dark anymore, now we're overexposed; unless you're willing to stop using oil in everything, inclduing the keyboard you're typing on. :p

Well, I hear you, but Clinton wasn't any better. Clinton only bothered with high profile matters to blow smoke and keep the press off his personal scandals. For that, I cannot whole heartedly respect what he's done offshores, simply because I don't feel any of it was ever genuine.

I'm glad Bush isn't trying to play World Police right now, god knows we need our own problems solved. An example of that is his commitment to alleviating our fossil fuel crunch. I could care less if he's drilling in my backyard. As long as it makes us less dependant on the middle-east and more self sufficient, I'm all for it.

We've been drilling all over the US for ages, and with statistically good results on all levels. I'm not worried about the Alaska drilling, afterall we bought it for a reason ;)

NOT drilling Alaska isn't going to affect whether I can use a PLASTIC keyboard.

Money would be better spent exploring alternatives to fossil fuels and oil-based products. So far, we have only dabbled in exploring the alternatives, like it's a hobby. We need to act like our lives depend on it- because eventually it will.

Christ there is already enough plastic on this planet to create 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 keyboards. Why waste fossil fuels?

And I AM worried about Alaska, because BUSH is. If he'd quite worring about it and do his damn job everything would be okay.

We have explored alternative fuels.

California has a law which required all auto manufacturers to introduce an electric powered car, or hybrid. So far, two companies have met that requirement, and it's safe to say more will follow.

Funny side note, all the big Westfield Malls have parking spots in the most choice locations (up front) for Electric Cars. You can even recharge for free while you shop :)

As far as drilling is concerened, just Drill damnit Drill!!! Because, I want to see more shell commercials of how their drilling refuse has become a sanctuary of sorts for the local wildlife. They always pose some sort of problem that mother nature just didn't seem to have a handle on until they dumped their steel tubes into the ocean, or partially buried them on dry land. In doing so, they speculate they bring balance and harmony while ending the commercial with "because people care".

Haha, yea, they're called investors ;)
