www.pocketquake.com is up!

I haven't had any extra money lately, or I would have registered it myself. As for Pocket Quake, I'm basically 100% sure that id Software (or Activision) would have complete rights to that name, even though Pocket is stuck on the front (same with WinQuake, etc).  So if push came to shove, id Software could get that domain name if it were abused.<br><br>Dan East

I actually went to register the name just about a week or two ago only to find that someone registered it using NameZero.

Yah,<br><br>Dan: I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I'm sure ID Software could send a nice email to the people at namezero asking them to drop the registration of the domain or give it to us.<br><br>Matt: It's not 3gb it's 3mbps. :). Still more than a T1..<br><br>Chris

I've delt with NameZero before. Whoever registered it with them is not to smart. If NameZero feels like that domain name is profitable at all they will claim it as their own. It is under their name and they can do whatever they want with it. It says so right in their ToS. And NameZero is a service that is used to purely redirect. I'm sorry, but it looks like you're not getting the domain name unless we all don't use it so not many hits go through it. Then, if whoever registered it with them will kindly cancel it we can pick it up after original 2 year contract is over. Or you could register it for full service from NameZero so you actually do own it. But the person that registered in the first place would have to do that. I hope that person read all of the ToS before signing his life away to NZ.

Have I ever told anyone that I hate Name Zero?.. I hope they go under and I can casually pick up the domain name in a free domain give-away that they have when they go under...<br><br>BTW. I own www.theinternetisdown.com via namezero... :) i didn't have any money, and it's a cool domain name.

hey,<br><br>I own pocketquake.com. Of course I'll give it to you guys for free. If you want to upgrade it to the plus service, so you actually own it, they charge 24.95 for one year, 39.95 for two years, and 79.95 for 5 years.

Guys, trust me, you DO NOT want to register with namezero and upgrade to their plus service. Myself and every other namezero user who has upgraded has had shithouse support and frequent server outage. Your best bet is to put in a javascript remove frame piece of code (i can help you with this if you want) and then after the year is up register the domain with a more reputable and reliable DNS group. I hate namezero, and I wish I never upgraded or even registered with their free domain in the first place. Nothing but one huge headache.
