new map- DM Loadzone

I decided to throw a quick map together. I'll be out of town for the next few days, so I'll be testing it on the road.<br><br>Everyone can check out this test map at:<br><br>http://www.e-starbrokers.com/pocketquake/dmloadzone/dmloadzone.htm<br><br>I'm thinking about shit-canning the Rocket Launcher in this particular map. Are there any other opinions?<br><br><br><br>

look under the screenshots.. it says "no screenshots yet" or something like that.

ya its pretty good, the map is nice. but umm i wanna get on the trucks not just walk by them :) i wanna get in them and drive. ahhahahahahahaha You should just make a cool texture train for the whole truck to move, like on street 2 or whatever it is for TF when you can drive that car into the enemies base.

Unfortunately Quake is a bare-bones 3D game and doesn't support a heck of alot.<br><br>It'd sure be nice to have a MOD like that for pocketQuake, but I don't see anyone writing any new QuakeC stuff since it is such old technology.

just tested it. Very nice map randall. It´s amazing how you build your maps so fast... It´s taking forever to finish my new map. (ok, I admit, I didnt work on it today...) :)

As long as I have the texture sets, maps can be built very fast. Since DM Loadzone uses the same textures as Kustok, it was built in one day.<br><br>But really, a timeframe shouldn't be a concern when mapping (unless you are getting paid for it). I'd rather see 1 really well thought out map that took a month to build than 15 maps that were built in 6 hours. So don't worry about how long it takes.

I could create moving vehicles in Quake using func_train, but it would be pointless. Especially in Loadzone- there isn't any room for moving vehicles.<br><br>Besides, it would be one more thing to lower the framerate.

make room :P then if the ppl get caught under the car they'd die,  thatd be awsome. just make a trigger to make the car run into peopl. like in q3 when u go in that room and u explode :)

I've uploaded a new version called XP Loadzone, that offers something a little different.<br><br>I'm used to playing Infiltration (UT) online, where you only get ONE life with limited loadout. If you want a better weapon or more ammo, you better kill your opponent and strip it from his dead body. There aren't any health items or armor to pick up, so small wounds add up quickly)<br><br>All of this is pretty much achieved in XP Loadzone, without using a mod, except you get UNLIMITED lives. :(<br><br>Go get it at:<br><br>http://devastation3.com/loadzone/main.htm<br><br>(The old beta-loadzone isn't available anymore)<br><br>

cool! Remember to launch it with lots of bugs, wait one month and release a patch file for it that doesn´t work either, wait one more month and finally release a good patch file for it.
