How do you make shortcuts?

I tried to make a shortcut for my map with reaper bots, so I opened up 999's kickflip shortcut and edited it for mine. I put in <br><br>quake/pocketquake.exe -game RPBot +map ctf2test<br><br>and it opens quake tells me it doesnt recognize the -game command, opens my map and I cant add bots. I had all files in their proper place too. So basically what I'm saying is...HELP

1- make sure you have the current version of PQ.<br><br>2- the shortcut should have a #XX/ before the shortcut.<br>X represents the number of characters are in the command-line, including the #XX/.<br><br>So, pocketquake.exe -game obots would be<br>#31/pocketquake.exe -game obots<br>Notice I'm also counting the spaces.<br>

Ok I fixed my shortcut and checked that I had version .062. It still does not work. I will play around with it some more after dinner, in the meantime if you guys have any more suggestions that would be great.

I have to use parenthesis around my shortcuts.<br><br>36#"\quake\pocketquake.exe" -game rail<br><br>Also note that there is a [return] at the end of the shortcut and it is included in the character count.

I had the rpbot folder in the id1 directory instead of parrelel to it. whoops.. it works now, I also got CTF working. thanks for the help everyone.

Can you make shortcuts to the storage card? if not, why?

I suppose you can. I've seen a shortcut somewhere in this forum that pointed to a storage device.<br><br>I don't have a storage card, so I can't confirm this.

I cant get a shortcut to the storage card to work. It doesnt recognize "storage card" as a whole but instead looks for a folder named "storage". 999 any ideas?

try making a shortcut to Quake on your storage card with FTPview or another freeware filebrowser with that capability. Then edit that shortcut in notepad. That's how I figured out how they worked in the first place.<br><br>

ok, here is what I found out. You can make shortcuts to the storage card, but you dont need to. So long as you have the pocketquake.exe in the /quake directory Quake will search for the mod folder in BOTH the storage card, and the onboard memory. This is quite handy..
