Are u using the new config files?

Bots should only spawn *after* Rocket Arena is enabled (according how I setup the configs).

In the console, type "rocketarena" to start the server and exit the observer room. (You shouldn't have to do this using my new configs)

Any other MIPS users experiencing the same thing?

I'll look over my MIPS configs again to make sure everything is being loaded in the right order.

Last modification: 999 - 04/25/01 at 13:49:00

The new configs are set to do so, where afterwards, it will then add bots.

Are you loading any differnt maps in first or something?

I can't reproduce this problem on my iPAQ, I have to force it by loading a different map after the server starts.

Actually, you can have more than two people in the arena at once.

With a commandline, you should be able to setup a bot team play match using Omnicron.

Once I get my final map done in a few minutes (Stoned Colder - Mini RA2 map conversion), I want to have a go at making a txt file with command lines that you can paste into your run prompt to start a match.

It'd be really cool if someone could make a "PocketQuake Launcher" that could store your command lines in a pulldown menu, and selecting it either copies it to your clipboard, or will bring up the run prompt, enter it for u, and boot up quake :) drool.

BTW- I figured out the problem and am going to try a new approach with the RA boot sequence. I'll post the new configs when I post my new map.

New Version

Postby 999 » Apr 25, 2001 @ 6:19pm

Okay, I think this is my final map. I'm going to start skinning the ones I have made now, Reaktor is already in the process.

Anyhow, this map is based off of one of my favorite RocketArena2 maps, Stoned Cold. Unfortunately, quite a bit had to be cut down to make this layout playable on the PPC, i.e. the curved walls where they meet the floor. I kept getting ram warnings with them in :D Well, to in any case the end result is pretty fun for pickin' off bots, and have aptly named it Stoned Colder (scr.bsp).
Image

This new zip file contains the latest configs as well as what I hope is a fix to the problem Chucky was experiencing in loading an RA match.

Download

:)

Last modification: 999 - 04/25/01 at 15:19:28

You could try the readme file.

But 999, are you back for good now? We're all happy to see you participating inthe boards again. It was getting lonely without you, and making fun of Phat was wearing a little thin.

Hi Moose,

As a favor to Chris, I've come back to moderate the boards. I will drop technical help mainly, and sort out the riff raff, but that's it.

This PocketArena thing just so happened to give me reason to post, otherwise I'd prolly be silent right now, with the slight exception of warnings. :)
