Pak1.pak file not working

what do you mean you are 'trying to run' the pak1? you dont need to click on it or anything. just leave it in the folder and play quake.<br><br>if it just doesnt work then all i can say is you should try copying it over again. but you should it first anyway to save space.

If you have enough space the game runs faster when ungzipped. But You need to have both PAK0 and PAK1 in the directory at the same time. They aren't two seperate entities or something. Pak1 is just a continuation of PAK0. did you put the gx.dll file in the windows directory? What error message does it give you?

Thanks everybody.  I didn't realize that both pak files had to be in the directory.  Everything works fine now.  <br><br>Thanks again for all your help. <br><br>MB
