New Map comming soon:)

Postby esw » Jul 16, 2001 @ 4:10pm

I'm working on a new SP map for pocketquake, featuring low-polys.. r-speeds almost always under 100, usually under 50. Its a castle-medival theme map. Check out some screenshots at

Try making the webpage background black so we can see the pics easier.

Note that those pictures were taken on my pc, but I've tested the whole map on my Casio and it is quite playable. The map is only about 60% done, but I thought It would be good to show off some screenshots :)

randall, I used some of the tips for reducing r-speeds that used to be on devastation3, like putting staircases inside func_wall s. What happened to the tutorials section? I thought that tutorial was useful..:) In the picture with the two staircases, the r-speeds went from 200 (with the staircase on the right not in func_wall) to less than 100 (that same staicase in a func_wall)!
Yeah, that works pretty awesome, huh? It looks like you saved alot with it.

The tutorials were taken down, because I wasn't happy with the terminology I used. It was inconsistent, and just appeared to be confusing.

You see, I only started Quake mapping in late march and DM Museum was my first map. So I'm not quite hip to how everything actually works with the compilers and stuff. Everything is so different than Quake2 and Unreal Tournament.

Maybe I'll have time to fix it later, and re-post the tutorials. Especially since there is a new wave of Jornada 720 users coming in.

Thanks, it's my first released map!:)
Originally I was planning on making a PQ mini-eppisode with 4 maps or something, but that would have been way too much work, and this map has taken awhile anyway.
