Pool of Tears

Pool of Tears

Postby NYIllustrator » Jul 17, 2001 @ 1:53am

Well I think my next map is going to be based on one of my favorite books...ALice in Wonderland. I think this will create a great mood in a DM map. Maybe Ill use some of the Alice game textures. THe maps name will be "pool of tears"; any ideas?

Large mushrooms, organic brushes, tree roots, lilly pads.

Spirals, give the player a since of vertigo at all times. Make it gloomy, but not too dark. Make it cold, but not like stone cold, like a castle type feel. And make it eerily comforting.<br>Maybe I should describe objects you should put in instead of emotions :-P.

Alice doesn't stink. I enver got my review sample when 3DGG was still up, but I had the demo and was ready to give it 4/5 stars. It was FUN, and that's more than I can say about most games.

hahah I found their webpage:<br><br><br>notice how they didn't bother to change the title<br>and it still says Form1!<br><br>From Pocketgamer.org:<br><br>"A simple, fun soccer game to play on your PocketPC. Kick the ball against your computer opponent and try to score before it does! The game adapts by speeding or slowing the computer opponent depending on the score."<br><br>

Yeah, I know. American football isn't as manly as Rugby, either. We need all this sissy padding and helmets.

At least Poccer doesn't have to worry about someone cracking it. I can't believe they would leave the default "Form1" in the titlebar.<br><br>Y'know, there are at least 30 million pics of soccer players on the internet. You'd think they could have at least used one of those as the graphics.<br><br>Actually, they could have stylized it with one of Chucks cool stick drawings.<br><br>Image<br><br>Oh, back to the topic. A suggestion to make it appear more "Alice". Use weird angles to throw off the perspective. Very few corners should intersect at a 90 degree angle. This will increase r_speeds somewhat, so you'll need to monitor this throughout the entire project.<br><br>MAKE IT PLAYABLE ON THE POCKETPC!<br><br>It'll pay off in the end; you'll probably have the most badass Quake map out there.
