SP map done

I use that crazy "save" option in the single-player menu myself, but that's just me. If I'm feeling saucy I do it manually in the console. Sometimes, when I'm bored and all by myself, I sit down with a stylus and a blank sheet of clay and actually _handcraft_ my savegames in cuneiform using an obscure Base 23 number format.

I'm curious to see how an optomized map would run full screen on the Jornada 720.

Did I miss something? When I click your link to download the map, I get to a page that says

This file cannot be directly accessed, but must be linked through the Brinkster Member's site.

D'oh! I'd really like to try this map!

Also, everyone keeps saying how torches slow the frame rate dramatically. Anyone thought about hacking the quake code to make torches non-lighting, i.e. turn them into inanimate rocks or something? That or destroy the torch code altogether so they don't show up at all in quake. Just a thought.
I think I heard him say they were low on webspace. But don't listen to me. I'm not in the loop anymore.

SP map done

Postby esw » Aug 2, 2001 @ 10:06pm

I've finished my single player pocket-quake map.
Right now, it's in a 'test version' state. So download it, and see how it works. I've tested it quite a lot allready; the olny thing that might not work perfectly is the skill settings. "Easy" is fairly simple to beat. but normal and hard might be too hard / or too easy for the average player.

You can download it temporairly from my free-web-page-host.

I've been thinking about this for awhile, and I'm going to incorporate my map in to a mini-eppisode for Pq.

The storyline will be more detailed and continue to develope with the help of cut-scenes, and a few shorter maps, along with a "finale" level.

Any comments or ideas?
