PocketQuake in print

PocketQuake in print

Postby Moose or Chuck » Oct 16, 2001 @ 5:31pm

Dan, thought you'd like to know. PCGamer, December 2001, has big article no PPC games, in which they mention PocketQuake more than once. They haev a link, including your name in bold letters, to www.pocketquake.com. So everyone on the fourm, we may be getting some new members shortly, and a lot of easy newbie questions. We'd greatly appreciate it if you'd be nice to any new comers, if not from now on, then just for this month.

It's sitting in my lap right now. I didn't see a picture of PocketQuake running, probably because there are only two screenshots in existense, both of which are hidden deep within these forums.

The article is called Pocket Power on page 82. I didn't read it through, because it was mostly for the ignorant or trust account babies craving the latest gadget. But they 'interviewed' ZioSoft, AmazingGames. Some stuff about Romero making games for the PPC. Harbour, the person who wrote the PPC Game Programming book. No stuff from Jimmy, probably because it was all in engrish. But they also have small reviews/opinions on some ofthe newer PPCs coming out. But Dan, your name and website are at the TOP of the list :)
Hey wait, I just saw IONSIDE on there too! 5 down. Nothing written about Argentum though, Or is it really going to be called War Metal? Romero's Monkeysoft and ZioSoft's ports took a lot of the spot light (but their links are a the bottom ;))

Hehe, they have a quote on the first page in large bold letters:
"I can already play multiplayer Pocket Quake over a [linked Pocket PC] wireless network right now."
-Jonathan Harbour

Not quite, because that form seems geared only to US customers. There's no way of inputting an address outside of the States.

So, no "mike's seal of mikeness" just yet, I'm afraid! ;)
