You just have to think about where to make the last level. At the wicked witch of the west? In emerald city (2nd time)? Or in the south? Maybe even in the desert...!

Hooray, my fifth star!!!

A CS mod would work just fine. It would be like Rainbow Six, only much cooler. You could even be a bounty hunter, a lone SWAT/police officer shooting down terrorists (Die Hard)... a soldier.

The Wizard of Oz is something entirely new, and unexpected. That would make a funky storyline and probably be quite fun to play.

Anyway, what I was really trying to say( without being so rude) was that you are spending all this time and the resources to develop a completely new game built around the Quake engine. You might as well do something original.

I mean, id software has already beat the shit out of that story. American McGee had the balls to go off and something truly amazing on his own like "Alice". That shows his true artistic talent- not Quake, Quake2 and Q3.

If you create all new content (sounds, models, textures, etc), we could omit the Quake name off the engine, and distribute an EXE that can play modified files without requiring the registered pak1 file (legally).

Dan East

Yeah, but that means he'd have to recreate everything not technically associated with the engine, including the AI, right? That's a hell of a lot of work, recoding all the QuakeC stuff. It's a cool idea, but I don't know how practical it'd be.

Right. You could strip down a bot's AI and use it for smarter-than-your-average-quake-bad-guy enemies.

Dan East

Ok, I'm the modeler for the project Robert was talking about. Now, some of you have suggested a Rainbow Six type of mod, I'm working on a couple of test models for that right now. Realalistic + Optimized means that there will be some skimping (if we use this idea) in some areas. This is 100% for you guys. If you guys have ANY suggestions, ideas, comments, complaints, anything.. (MAP IDEAS TOO!) email me here
I'll get back here A.S.A.P.
Modeling is like a box of chocolates
And I don't like chocolates.

This is totally off the cuff, but why not make it a Wizard-of-Oz-Rainbow-Six mod?
The flying monkeys have Toto. We have the witch's castle surrounded. Scarecrow, take the point at the side entrance. Lollipop Guild guys back him up. Tin Man, you lead a squad of Lullaby Leaguers to the tower fire escape and hold for my signal. Cowardly Lion--oh, never mind. ;)

Ok, here is the concept. You take the wizard-of-oz thing with a rainbow 6 theme, and then you have them storming into a giant muffin. I mean this thing is HUGE! Litlle Debby, eat your heart out. Who, BTW, is the person holding Dorthy for hostage. Throw in the kids from southpark too. They could be the guards!!!
